The best thing about Dick Grayson is you put him with the other Bats and he appears to be a friendly, lighthearted, jokester, but you put him with other heroes and he suddenly looks uptight, paranoid, and seriously lacking in average social graces. Nothing about his character has really changed it’s just that this uptight and paranoid boy is friendly, and lighthearted compared to the complete emotional constipation of the other bats😂 He’s a perfect middle ground between the Bats, and the other heroes.
thus why TT Dick was completely in character, he was just, you know, surrounded by other teenagers for once.
I wonder if the idea of supporting your artist friends by commissioning them will bring back having portraits of oneself in the home. but instead them being like, a status symbol, as a way to show off your very talented friends?
Like “ah yes I see you admiring the family portrait above the mantlepiece - my friend drew it, aren’t they talented? here’s their twitter they’re accepting commissions OH and they also did the one of my D&D group in the living room come see!”
